AAS, ICP-MS, ICP-AES 등의 기기 분석을 위한 시료 전처리 장치로서 마이크로파로 시료를 가압, 가열하여 분해시키는 장치이다. 기존의 습식 방법은 상당한 시간의 소비와 시약의 과량 소모 등의 문제점이 있지만, 본 장치는 시료당 전처리(digestion) 시간이 30분에서 60분까지 단축시킬 수 있고, 시약의 양을 줄일 수 있는 특징이 있다. 또한 모든 시료에 대한 전처리가 가능하며 특히 open vessel로 전처리되지 않는 시료에 대해 뛰어난 전처리 능력을 보인다
